Classroom and on-the-job training (OJT) opportunities enable eligible job seekers to acquire the skills required for today’s high-demand occupations.
Choosing an occupation or training program that best matches your career goals, interests, and abilities can at times be overwhelming. JTBC utilizes a number of assessment tools to help eligible job seekers determine which career fields match their interests and abilities.
Schools and training programs approved for WIA Adult and Dislocated Worker grant assistance are listed on the PA Commonwealth Workforce Development System (CWDS) at www.cwds.pa.gov (opens in new window). Click on “Find Training” under the “Individuals” section, and enter the required search criteria.
OJT is a great opportunity to “Earn While You Learn.” An employer may qualify to receive a wage reimbursement while training you to perform a new job. You earn the same hourly wage as other employees in the same position. The employer agrees to maintain you as an employee upon successful completion of the required training.
